KITCHEN

SCALE

ASSIGNMENT

The goal was to design a digital kitchen scale as if it would have been designed by Arik Levy, an Israeli artist, photographer, technician, designer and video artist.

This obviously required a lot of research and looking into his earlier designs and artwork.

Flowing chamfers and a clean, white look are
essential in Arik levy’s design and ergonomics.
When I developed my scale I was inspired by those features.

The design allows the user to place big bowls or pots onto the top surface without struggling to see the
display or being unable to use the buttons.

The back of the scale ramps up in a way that picking it up after use is easy and instinctive.

A polished white surface is easy to clean and has a very hygienic feel.
